Happiness is in the arms of the holder :)

Oh my lovely friends. Hello! I miss you all so very much. I lie awake at night planning all the amazing catch-ups we're going to have next year when I come home. But until that day comes, I am still here, in an English blissful summer. Some days it's disgustingly scorching and I just want to stick my head in the freezer. And other days, like now, it's raining and miserable. I feel like running out on to the busy main road and doing a rain dance...I love love love the bleakness. Despite what the weather is up to though...there's always babies to feed, nappies to change, toddlers to keep entertained, ironing to sort and dinners to make. Let's just say I feel like a lunatic at the best of times!

I am late in posting some of my news, but here are a few snippets.

In the garden making daisy chains. Oh! And I got a new piercing...my tragus!!

My funky new Converse shoes. And entire outfit. I feel like a trendy teenager in this gear.

I was in Essex, at a garden exo. The bumble bees in the UK are monsters!

The view from my  bestie's childhood bedroom window.

I got to spend a long weekend at my bestie's parent's place last week. They live near Essex. I was given cups of tea in bed, home cooked dinners and puddings. We played board games around the table till midnight and I got an education on goldfish and ponds.

I don't think I've ever experienced that much tea drinking in my entire life!
We got back from shopping: "let's put the kettle on".
Came inside from the garden: "Who wants a cuppa?".
Watching The French Open: "here you go, Jess! I nice, hot cup of tea"
My bladder was bursting every 10 minutes!!

I visited the church where Mike and Janette first met. It was so amazing and emotional for me. Because I love those two people so much! Mike's room has been turned in to 'the library' but while I was there it got dubbed 'Jess's room'. Made me feel like part of the family :)

Sunday afternoon I pinched the iPad and hogged the whole 30 minutes of their 'mother/son/daughter in-law' skype date. When you're used to spending 4+ days a week with someone and then don't see them for 5 months, the first face to face catchup can get pretty wet with "I miss you" tears.
When I said my goodbyes to the family, they were warned in advance that I will definitely be coming back!!

  1. I liked it all, but the title is my favourite part of this post. :) And true happiness is still in the arms of the holder, even when they're tired. :)
